Zombies in Literature

World War Z - Max Brooks -Hands down one of the best books I've read recently. The perspective, the point of view they've taken. Tales of despair, destruction, clawing back. Forget that it's about zombies, if you like war stories in general, it's awesome.

2. Pet Sematary - Stephen King - Pet Sematary is such a legendary main stream success by the first name in horror, I forget that it is a Zombie book. Well, maybe it's not the bite, infection spreading zombie that we litter this site with... It's definitely about something died, something is buried, something rises from the dead to scare the living.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith - The book and zombie story were good... well... I've enjoyed other zombie books more. But the idea is fabulous and I look forward to the author's next venture. Basically, he takes a classic book that's now on public domain and mixes zombies in to the premise. Sadly, his future tales will probably have vampires or something trendy, but I dream of Alice in Wonderland with Zombies or Huckelberry Zombie Finn.

The Zombie Survival Guide - Max Brooks - This is not a story. This is not a comedy. The only funnies are the asides and "haha, that's peculiar." BUT, if there was a zombie apocolypse, I would follow this guide book to the letter. All the advice is logical and follows most of the mythology of zombies pretty religiously. Don't give up on the book, though, the "Historical Events" in the back of the book are awesome little short stories.
