Zomebie FAQ
Zombies don't ask questions. Duh.
1. What is a Zombie?
Generically speaking, a zombie is the walking dead. Characteristics generally include not being bound to the same needs a human has, like breathing. Zombies can be further broken in to seperate catagories. For the most part, this website follows the Viral Zombie
A) The Viral Zombie - This is the zombie that is typically created when one is bitten or otherwise is infected with Zombie Fluid. In 28 Whatevers Later... they call it "Rage", Max Brooks books refer to it as "Solanum". Pretty much the results are the same... They are unthinking beasts that have control of their bodies and single mindedly want to eat you. You are either consumed completely, or bitten, die and become a zombie. You can only kill a viral zombie by destroying the brain.
B) The Vodou Zombie -
i) The Brain Washed Living - Some Vodou ceremonies may include the living ingesting something that relaxes their functions to make them appear dead. This may also cause some type of brain damage. More often than not, this is the zombie that is crawling out of the grave. Somebody thought they were dead, buried them, and the slow, but somewhat thinking person that's been infected, claws their way to air. It is said the lack of air is what causes this brain damage. A Vodou zombie still needs their body. They will bleed and die from wounds. They may show signs of recognition and emotion.
ii) The Raised Dead - This is Bernie Lomax in Weekend at Bernie's II. The Raised Dead is an actual dead person who has been raised by preternatural means to conduct somebody's dirty work. Often these types of zombies have specific purpose and goal. The baddies in "Plan 9 from Outer Space" would also fall in to this category.
